Want to save money on your energy bill? Then Wattcher is the tool to use. It can help you lower your monthly energy spend. Wattcher is an energy monitoring tool that gives you valuable insights on your home electricity consumption. Users of the tool on average save 13 percent on their electricity usage.
Designed to save energy
The Wattcher is designed by Marcel Wanders, the Dutch interior designer whose knotted chair became famous through exhibitions in the MoMa in New York. The aim of Wanders is to design a product that not only enables its users to save money, but also fits beautifully into a living room. The product comes in various products. The Wattcher was developed in close cooperation with Eneco, the Dutch energy company.
Monitor your electricity consumption online
In Wattcher online, users can keep track of their energy consumption, both for electricity and gas. Items that can be evaluated include standby power, washing machines, kitchen products and computers. Users of Wattcher can also engage in online battles to see who saves the most energy. To show the savings opportunity on one’s energy bill, Wattcher and two other organisers have asked 60 mayors and aldermans of Dutch cities to compete in a battle for the most sustainable mayor of Holland. By using Wattcher, the mayors received insights and valuable advice how they could save energy. The winner of the competition, Ed de Graaf from Middelburg, was able to cut his energy consumption by more than 80 percent.
